Introduction to Somatic Movement

This introductory workshop offers an exploration of somatic movement practices, to cultivate greater awareness, freedom, and ease in our bodies. Somatic Movement is explorative instead of outcome-driven, allowing us to discover the nuances of how we feel, focusing on the internal experience of the movement rather than the external appearance or the end result of the movement. We learn to tune into the body’s sensations, release tension, and explore a deeper connection between mind and body.

We explore tools for self-regulation, pain management, but also personal expression, awareness, and healing. An Introduction to Somatic Movement creates a space for the body to communicate its wisdom, allowing for a deeper awareness of our internal world, making it easier to recognize our needs, desires, and boundaries.

By learning to listen to our bodies, we are empowered to move, heal, and express ourselves in ways that honor our true selves. Practitioners of all levels, complete beginners are welcome. This involves a gentle guided movement practice--a mat, water, and comfortable clothes are needed.
